Job Description

 Our client is currently in the process of rehabilitating the Accra Sewage and Faecal Treatment Plants and is seeking to engage globally minded and experienced individuals with successful track record in the specific fields to manage the affairs of the company.

Applications are invited from Ghanaian and non –Ghanaian citizens with valid work permit and experience for the specific positions before 31^st March, 2015.

The location for all the positions is Accra with possible and frequent travels in- country and abroad.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of Managing Director, plans, supervises and participates in the operation, maintenance, modification and improvement of the wastewater treatment plant, facilities and equipment; provides technical support to our client and other contractors relative to wastewater treatment activities at post construction Phase; and future needs and services and any other assignment as may be deemed necessary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the maintenance of good environmental sanitation standards
• Prepare and develop health, safety and environmental policies and procedures for the organization. He/she ensures that the organization implement and maintain the highest levels of health and safety standards in accordance with applicable international health and safety standards. Continually monitor and inspect operations at treatment pumping stations and other work sites to ensure compliance to safe work practices
• Ensure adequate supply of standard protective clothing and safety gadgets at workplaces
• Improve and update health and safety polices and ensure compliance with relevant industry and national regulations as well as ensure environmental best practices at all times and compliance with the organization’s core values including demonstration of safe public health practices
• Monitor and ensure that the operations of contractors working on major construction projects for the organization do not either directly or indirectly endanger the public health of citizens or impact negatively on the environmental conditions of the metropolis
• Offer advice for the issuance of an order when necessary on corrective action for failed sewerage systems.
• Any other duty that may be assigned.

Required Skills or Experience

 Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental engineering or a related field, such as civil, chemical, or general engineering.

• With 10 years of professional experience in civil engineering.
