About the role
The Nutrition Project Officer will play a crucial role in the effective and timely implementation of FSL & Nutrition projects in Maiduguri. The role will support Christian Aid’s development, implementation and monitoring of a 4-month WFP food distribution project. The nutrition component of the World Food Programme (WFP) project is key in active case findings and the implementation of the Strategic Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) component of the project. The Nutrition Officer will be based in Maiduguri to coordinate Maiduguri, Dikwa, Magumeri, Dikwa and Mongonu supported by Nutrition Assistants in each location why the Nutrition Officer in Shani will focus on the Integrated Nutrition Programme (INP) project in the location and serve as the head of office.
You are required to have a degree in Nutrition or Socio-Economic Development related fields. A minimum of 2 years work experience in Food, Security & Livelihood /Nutrition and SBCC approach and work in the INGO environment, including exposure to field operations emergency programs is required. You are required to work in partnership with a wide range of actors. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in English clearly both verbally and in writing is essential. The post holder will be required to be based and travel within remote areas of Christian Aid’s operations.
