International Organization for Migration in Nigeria Vacancy for Junior Logistics Assistant

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with

migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Working under the overall supervision of the Resource Management Officer, Maiduguri and the direct supervision of the
Procurement & Logistics Office, and in close coordination with all the RM and Programme Units, the incumbent will assist
in carrying out fleet dispatch in accordance with IOM’s regulations, rules and procedures: In particular, s/he will:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the movement of the IOM fleet in an efficient and effective manner
2. Assist in the organization of daily fleet activities and drivers at the office;
3. Assist in organizing the repair of vehicles.
4. Report any vehicles damages to the supervisor.
5. Coordinate with staff and drivers on daily movement and use of vehicles, receive email request and accordingly plan
daily movement of the fleet;
6. Coordinate with Security Unit on vehicles movement and compliance with security instructions;
7. Coordinate with the supervisor and drivers to conduct regular check-up of all IOM vehicles; verify that all are kept in
good running condition all the time;
8. Assist in updating vehicle tracking matrix.
9. Assist in monitoring that drivers observe appropriate driving ethics and practice on the road. Teach/Coach drivers on
the proper driving courtesy. Report any misconduct to the supervisor;
10. When necessary, drive IOM vehicles to assist with daily movement of staff;
11. Undertake other duties that may be assigned from time to time which are commensurate to the position

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum one (1) years (three years High School degree) in the relevant field of expertise (Mechanical,
Engineering, Technical, Logistics, Management) or alternatively a combination of related education and
experience in this field.
• Experience in maintenance vehicles, preferably have experience in vehicles and drivers’ management

• Eight years possession of driving license and experience in driving vehicles, including armoured vehicles.
