			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><span id="goog_779804901"></span>Asia Foundation<span id="goog_779804902"></span></a>, a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, and open Asia-Pacific region, is seeking a qualified <a href="/">Chief of Party</a> for an upcoming <br /><a name='more'></a>5-year project in the area of human rights and domestic violence. <br />The proposed program aims to reduce the high prevalence of domestic violence and other related human rights violations in Bangladesh by (1) ensuring that survivors of domestic violence and other related human rights abuses have greater access to justice; (2) increasing the awareness and capacity of communities throughout Bangladesh to reduce domestic violence; and (3) making certain that the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) adopts and enforces comprehensive women&#8217;s rights and domestic violence policies, which include such legislation as the Domestic Violence Bill. Candidates should be development professionals with specific sector expertise, in areas such as human rights promotion and protection, domestic violence prevention, women&#8217;s rights, access to justice, advocacy, civil society strengthening, organizational and institutional capacity building, and small grants program management.<br /><a href="/">[scholarships]</a></p>
<p>COP-level applicants will be responsible for the overall management of projects including technical oversight, administration, fiscal management, and grants management to assure quality, impact, and cost effectiveness. Responsibilities include developing and designing workplans; monitoring and evaluating project activities to ensure project goals are met; management and supervision of project staff; oversight of finance and grants management; and maintenance of relationships with the donor to ensure coordination with other activities.<br /><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br />COP-level applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in human rights promotion and protection and must have experience building organizational capacity and programming activities through formal and non-formal approaches. Experience developing and managing complex projects, working with government and donor communities, managing stakeholder relationships, managing large development aid programs and budgets, proven skills building collaborative relationships in a complex development environment, a background in gender issues and excellent communications skills are required. A relevant degree and excellent written and spoken English are required; a graduate-level degree is preferred. Relevant field and management experience, expertise in functional areas, and experience in/knowledge of South Asia, preferably Bangladesh, are required. Sensitivity to gender issues and experience with or knowledge of local cultural educational and religious values is required. Experience working on USAID projects is highly desirable.
