Overall Responsibilities
The Technical Officer: Logistics Support supports the Zambia Prevention, Care, and Treatment (ZPCT) Project in the aspects of pharmacy and laboratory commodity management. Various commodities are used in multiple services of the ZPCT comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention care and treatment program, including CT, PMTCT and ART. The Technical Officer for Logistics Support will work closely with the Sr. Technical Officer: Pharmaceutical Services, the Sr. Technical Officer: Laboratory Services and the Sr. Technical Officer: Drug and Commodity MIS to ensure effective ARVs, OI drugs, HIV test kits, ART Laboratory Commodities and other essential drugs and supplies management in ZPCT supported areas. She or he has the primary responsibility of liaison between ZPCT, MSL, SCMS and the facilities to ensure uninterrupted supply of commodities for HIV/AIDS services. She or he also plays a key role in the ZPCT Partners overall strategic planning and participates in the project wide implementation activities.
Qualifications
1. Certification in pharmacy at the undergraduate level, with a minimum of two years experience.
2. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the functionality of the national logistics systems in use in Zambia in support of ART, CT, PMTCT, OI, TB/HIV, STI programs
3. Demonstrated technical skills in the application of rational commodity management principles to HIV/AIDS services in Zambia.
4. Demonstrated skills in coordinating support activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of commodities for HIV/AIDS services.
