The British Council in Senegal is looking for a dynamic professional to join their Projects Team.
Purpose of Job
As part of the team you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of country and regional products related to english, education and culture.The role will be based in Senegal and is on a contract basis for two years.
Context and Environment
British Council Senegal has a team of 4 staff who work to deliver our portfolio of projects in English, Education & Society and the Arts. We work mainly in Dakar but increasingly in other French speaking countries in West Africa to create international opportunities for and links between the people of the UK and the sub-region.
We aim to increase our impact by working more closely with partners and putting a new focus on sales and finance/business improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of all project work including the compilation of Scorecard data and other evaluation tools required by our corporate standards
- Deliver communication services for all productss and services including media and website coverage, effective public relations and the production and distribution of communication products arising from BC activity
- Contribute to the identification and development of potential partners and sponsors and to build effective relationships with target audiences
- Ensure effective business risk management of all project budgets on a regular and accurate basis and to identify all risks attendant on each activity we conduct.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years previous experience and familiarity with project management in an international organisation and have at least a Bachelor degree or equivalent level in Project Management, Social Sciences or Marketing.
- Very good English (IELTS minimum 6.5).
- Capacity to work towards goals set by others and to measure progress against targets.
- Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills and the flexibility to be able to work with a variety of situations, individuals and groups.
- Effective team member working co-operatively across all sections to achieve shared goals.
