Job Purpose
To implement and maintain systems for applications in the data center.
Responsibilities
Installing and configuring server hardware in the date center to load application. Proper Servers installation to avoid Application. Cutover delay.
Loading operating system on servers for applications.
Providing maximum availability of all servers to provide stable working Environment. Making sure Application Servers are always in good working condition.
Ensuring all servers are up-to-date with the latest patch thereby preventing system virus attack. Patch updates always to be maintained.
Effective trouble-shooting of all problems in the shortest duration possible to prevent office work interruption. Attend to Servers problems immediately.
Escalate further unresolved issues to senior system engineers for quick Resolution and liaising with server hardware vendors for necessary hardware replacement to resolve the hardware problem. Seek assistance from IT Management and suppliers to make sure Application Servers are up all the time.
Requirements
Qualifications and Education:
A university degree equivalent to the bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects
Computer Science
Information Technology
System management
Electronics & Communication
Should also have any one of the following certificates
MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer)
MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator)
CCNA ( Cisco Certified Network Associate)
Experience:
Minimum 4 years experience in the following areas
Microsoft Operation System or Unix Operating System
Hardware Architecture of Servers, Backup library, SAN storage
Applications Software (MS Exchange, Domain Controller, Antivirus Products, Ms Proxy, Citrix, IIS, etc)
Training:
Training in any one of the area such as Operating Systems (Windows, UNIX), Storage Area network, Application products
Knowledge:
Should have a strong knowledge base in Operating System (Windows or UNIX), Citrix, Email systems, SAN Architecture.
