We’ve just recruited seasonal staff

We have just finished a Customer Service Representative project looking for seasonal staff to work at Heathrow during holidays and weekends only. It went very well and we will have over 20 new starters in August. It appealed especially to University and further education students as it can be combined with their studies.

Don’t worry if you missed this opportunity this year, as we are going to repeat it on a yearly basis and will be launching again in April 2015.

Did you watch ‘A Very British Airline’?

The three part series of ‘A Very British Airline’ aired on BBC2. It gave a unique look behind-the-scenes at British Airways. The series showed our complex operation and the people who keep it going 365 days a year.

The Guardian, Independent, and the Daily Star (Saturday) reviewed the last episode of A Very British Airline. The Daily Star awards the episode four stars out of five and notes that the episode shows how Heathrow deals with disruption.

BA is the top rated UK brand

People Services Apprenticeship

Our induction week was really busy, from meeting a number of people and finding out a bit about what they do to visits to the community centre and the engineering base, it’s been non stop!

I found the induction week brilliant – the things we learnt about different aspects of the business was fascinating. Though there was a lot of information to take in, gaining a bit of knowledge about different aspects of the business was really great. My favourite parts were the visits to the community centre (we got to dress up as cabin crew!) and the engineering visit which was amazing (I think I’d suit being a pilot) Hoping the next week I might be a bit less busy was deemed to be just a nice thought as my wish didn’t come true and I’ve been given a lot of work to do and things to learn. Although extremely interesting, I think early nights are becoming my forte. – Philippa Bailey

The transition between being a student and being a full time apprentice at BA has been challenging but one of the best experiences of my life. The induction week definitely exceeded my expectations- it was a lot of fun and we learnt so much about BA and the different roles and departments that exist here. A number of employees from different departments all took time out of their day to come and speak with us- it was nice to know we had a lot of support! Dressing up as cabin crew in the community centre and sitting in the pilot seat on a plane during the engineering visit was definitely the highlights of my week. The second week has been brilliant as I’ve been given so much responsibility and treated as an equal employee within my department- no photocopying or making coffee all day long! Can’t wait to see what next week brings. –  Samantha Kent
