Working within WaterAid Rwanda, the Head of Policy and Research will play strategic and management roles in policy, research and analysis, networking, advocacy and communication as well as monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

It’s hard to believe that today over 650 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.3 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every two minutes.

WaterAid is looking for a Head of Policy and Research to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities. Based in the WaterAid office in Kigali with frequent and sometimes extensive travel to rural parts of Rwanda and the East Africa WA countries.

Working within WaterAid Rwanda, the Head of Policy and Research will play strategic and management roles in policy, research and analysis, networking, advocacy and communication as well as monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

To be successful, you will need to have sound experience in policy and advocacy work, good working experience in programme management in a development field. You will need to have excellent negotiation, facilitation, presentation and reporting skills and will need to be excellent in research and public speaking.
