                               Global Communities is seeking a Ghanaian national for the position of Capacity Building Specialist for the 4-year YIEDIE program in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation. This program is designed to create jobs and business opportunities for disadvantaged urban youth in Ghana and will focus on capacity building/training for youth development in the construction sector in Ghana. This position would provide a high level support to the program with a focus on youth engagement, capacity development and partnership management.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis job description is designed to give an indication of the type of work and performance expected of the jobholder.                                 He/she will be responsible to design and conduct Organizational Development Assessment (ODA) and Training Needs Assessments (TNA) for identified interventions and facilitate in developing trainings and their implementation. Report writing of all training related activities.Gather and analyze information to generate common baseline knowledge on the past and current capacity building interventions and provide recommendations on how their results could be used as basis for the development of holistic, comprehensive, in-house capacity building strategy/programConduct meetings with partner institutions and synthesize their perspectives on the nature of interventions needed to accelerate staff development as well as their vision of an ideal capacity development strategy for their staff;Design a training needs assessment plan, including processes, tools and analytical framework;Implement the training needs assessment, analyze data and prepare a report; andDiscuss the training needs assessment findings and recommendations with the management of partner institutions and generate agreement on the succeeding steps to implement the recommendations.Identify various capacity building approaches that the partner institutions need to pursue in the short and long term periods addressing capacity gaps;Carry out multi-level consultations with partner institutions’ staff and officials to generate shared ownership of the strategy/program, train the appropriate unit or personnel of partner institutionsDevelopment of capacity building implementation plan, monitoring application of learned knowledge and skills, and identifying the needed follow up interventions to further strengthen the staff capacitiesDesign and facilitate appropriate Training Programs on priority areas of Global CommunitiesEnsure that relevant training programs are conducted in timely mannerImplementation of effective training materials development and production system;Capacity development and mentoring partner institutions;Strategic planning and policy advice to partner institutionsMonitors and evaluates influence/ impact of training materials and courses, and use data to update materials and approachesReviews the existing practice of training materials development and production and present a report that addresses different options for implementing a responsive training materials production systemProvide supervision, ongoing coaching and support to the staff of partner institutionsExplore and materialize new capacity building initiativesDevelop and sustain linkages with training institutions and professional bodies with a view to develop partnerships on improved capacity building methodologiesAssist proposal writing teams in developing training related part of the proposalsIdentify and shortlist training specialists to conduct training 
                              Required Skills or Experience 
                                A higher degree in Business or Development with specialization in Organizational DevelopmentMinimum of five years in professional training, management and capacity building of NGOs, supervision in training management, production of training materials, in similar positionsStrong analytical abilities, particularly in the areas of governance, learning, training and capacity development/transferPractical experience in staff development and career planningPractical experience in Organizational DevelopmentPractical experience in workshop organization and group facilitationKnowledge of adult learning styles and NGO best practicesExperience in designing and delivery of training programmes for NGO target group will be an advantage
