Vacancy for GESI Officer – STAR II (1121) At Christian Aid-Accra Ghana

Christian Aid is seeking senior staff to manage a major donor funded accountability programme in Ghana. 

About the role

The Strengthening Transparency Accountability and Responsiveness in Ghana (STAR-Ghana) programme has a dual focus – catalysing the efforts of citizens towards systemic change on specific issues, and working towards the creation of a Ghanaian-run corporate entity to sustain support for these efforts beyond the life cycle of the programme. Within this framework, STAR-Ghana is looking to hire a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer who will be responsible for providing support in the capacity building of grant partners and ensuring that STAR-Ghana effectively delivers its outputs with regard to gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). S/he will support the GESI Manager to ensure GESI is integrated into all areas of the programme’s work and that all programme activities are GESI compliant and implemented through a GESI lens.

About you

The successful applicant will have a graduate degree (or equivalent) in developments studies, gender, economics, politics or in a relevant discipline. You need to have good knowledge and skills in GESI programming and significant experience in international development, including an understanding of issues of governance, accountability and rights. You are required to have direct experience of working with governance institutions, and have the experience of report writing for donors. You have the ability to analyse reports, make observations on implementation progress, develop data collection tools and analyse it for decision making. You are an experienced facilitator, trainer and good in network building.
