.Job Title: Medical Doctors (2)

Contract Duration: Fixed term (12 months)

Location: Yumbe (Bidibidi Settlement) and Arua (Omugo Settlement), West Nile Region

Contractual Status: National posting

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they support the country programs and are/or visiting country programs.Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Sub Area Manager and with technical support from the Program Manager-Health and Nutrition, the Medical Doctor is responsible for ensuring quality in primary health care activities / services provided to refugees and host communities at the health facility and in the catchment communities by providing medical consultations.

Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;

  • MBChB degree from a recognized institution, Registered with relevant professional authority and a valid practicing license
  • Previous experience of NGO work in public health humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in primary health care, general practice.
  • Management experience supervising medical teams
  • Experience in maternal, neonatal and child health care in emergencies including reproductive health and adolescent care.
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, and all aspects of project management.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and supervision of staff and in building and maintaining a high performing team.
  • Experience in promoting childrens rights and gender, including participation in programming, design, implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health regulations and policies.
  • Inter-personal skills to influence and guide staff and partners in identifying programming opportunities and resolving program challenges.
