Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to increase the sales and profitability of the Shell Fleet Card business by focusing on acquiring new customers and increasing the value of existing customer contracts according to pre-set challenging targets.
The candidate will also be required to drive acceptance of new payment tools for the B2C segments with an aim to position VE as an innovative Oil marketer in the area of payment systems.

Principal Accountabilities:

Manage and build relationships with key contacts at all levels within the customer organization and key stakeholders at other external organizations.
Exemplify and drive the Sales 1st key behaviors, tools and skills within the cards team
Monitor and share relevant Fleet market trends, competitor intelligence, customer requirements and other developments to the wider Fleet community.
Develop fit for purpose CVPs for various vehicle user segments
Liaise with all stakeholders in the B2C payment sector to improve acceptance of Bank Card on our forecourts and embrace new payment systems for example mobile money
Work in close collaboration with the marketing teams to develop strong communications campaigns that promotes VE action in the area of payment systems
Work closely with other sales teams to align their objectives in ensuring maximum benefit to the organization.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:

A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years sales experience preferably in the banking, telecom or insurance sector.
Ability to manage credit improve payment behavior
Ability to prioritize and manage competing activities
Demonstrated ability to coach and lead a team; previous coaching and management experience is required.
Comprehensive understanding of the cards business and related systems and processes will be considered as an advantage
Firsthand experience using structured selling techniques and negotiations skills
Ability to manage a prospect away from discount requests and towards value, through a smooth opening questioning technique and honed ability to summarize customer needs and successfully trial close
The ability to re-open negotiations with dormant customers.
Stakeholder management with the drive and persistency to perform, even at times of great change and under strong pressure
