The Middle East and Europe team is looking for a dynamic and proactive team assistant to support the Regional Director and project team. This is an exciting role that will enable you to make the best of your organisational skills and learn about the role of media in international development. You will be working with a highly skilled and vibrant team and the variety of tasks you will perform will be an opportunity for career progression as you will be working closely with the region’s project implementing teams.
Reporting to the Regional Director for Middle East and Europe, the role will provide significant administrative and organisational support to the Regional Director and the region’s project teams and country offices. You will be the first point of contact for the team and will need to be aware of all operational, legal, project and business development activities in order to best handle queries and provide adequate support.
The role will be responsible for a broad range of administrative tasks such as providing extensive support to the Regional Director: flagging important issues and using your initiative to solve issues or move them forward, diary management, organising travel and handling the region’s recruitment. You will also be responsible for co-ordinating projects activities: freelance contracting, travel arrangements and ensuring all project expenditure is recorded accurately.
You will be monitoring the region’s business development, which is an exciting opportunity to learn about project design and methodology and international development aims.
Are you the right candidate?
The role requires the following essential skills and experience:
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with great attention to detail and ability to prioritise conflicting requests, with several years’ experience of working in a fast paced and highly productive operational environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be required to draft official emails and reports to a high standard on a regular basis.
- A strong sense of initiative and ‘can do’ attitude: you will need to use own initiative with minimal supervision and deal with routine queries as they arise escalating others as necessary.
- Ability to research, gather, analyse, collate and present information as required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in dealing sensitively with confidential issues.
Grade: 4 (proposed Band B)
Attachment/fixed term contract:- From 06/08/18 – 28/06/19 – Employees must seek the approval of their manager before applying for an attachment.
