<p><a name='more'></a><br />­&nbsp;<span style="font-weight: bold;"> 1) Equipment Control:</span><br />­&nbsp; Plan and monitor stock levels and turn-over times<br />­&nbsp; Drive depot performance in preparing equipment<br />­&nbsp; Control supply to customers, initiate re-supply or evacuation of stock to meet target levels<br />­&nbsp; Maintain accurate and timely equipment tracking<br />­&nbsp; Minimise cost of local equipment movements<br />­&nbsp;<span style="font-weight: bold;"> 2) Rail Transport:</span><br />­&nbsp; Secure transport capacity from TFR and monitor execution (time, volume, location)<br />­&nbsp; Handle manual and electronic documentation process<br />­&nbsp; Maintain internal operational systems<br />­&nbsp; Ensure data quality is maintained between all entities involved<br />­&nbsp; Maintain acceptable transit times as advised from time to time<br />­&nbsp; <span style="font-weight: bold;">3) Rail Execution:</span><br />­&nbsp; Liaise with and represent the company towards TFR staff and management<br />­&nbsp; Plan, order and monitor the railing of containers<br />­&nbsp; Plan and monitor stock at TFR facilities<br />­&nbsp; Assist truck operators<br />­&nbsp; Inspect and classify containers for different purposes<br />­&nbsp; Liaise with government agencies such as SARS and Boarder Police on occasion<br />­&nbsp; <span style="font-weight: bold;">4 )Road Transport:</span><br />­&nbsp; Arrange local trucking moves<br />­&nbsp; Assist customer service agents with longhaul and local delivery truck moves<br />­&nbsp; <span style="font-weight: bold;">5) Finance &amp; Systems:</span><br />­&nbsp; Maintain all services ordered on operational financial systems<br />­&nbsp; Ensure 100% accuracy and timeliness of financial system updates<br />­&nbsp; Resolve queries and mismatches against thight deadlines<br />­&nbsp; <span style="font-weight: bold;">6) General:</span><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in process improvement projects <span style="text-decoration: underline;">(e.g. cost saving, service delivery)</p>

The Global Financial Markets Department s Housing Finance Group aims to increase the availability and affordability of residential housing in developing countries. It does so by introducing a steady source of new housing finance product ideas, technical assistance, strategic formulations, policy, procedures and effectiveness measures to better meet client requirements and leverage the IFC s own resources. The IFC employs a broad range of financial and non-financial tools to develop and improve primary and secondary mortgage markets and their financial mechanisms.<br /><strong>Duties and Accountabilities:</strong></p>
<p># Among other duties the specialist will be called upon to: Lead/support the appraisal, structuring, negotiation and processing of housing finance projects</p>
<p># Lead/support the growth of the housing finance investment portfolio in the region by taking a pro-active role in both developing new business and processing and closing of housing finance investment transactions;</p>
<p># Lead the supervision of projects, including client interaction, analytical assessments, on-site reviews and the preparation of internal report documentation</p>
<p># Manage/support client relationships, particularly with respect to advisory services</p>
<p># Contribute to the evaluation of mortgage markets and to IFC s regional strategy of mortgage markets and their implementation;</p>
<p># Lead/support the fundraising process for housing finance advisory interventions</p>
<p># Provide best-practice and technical advice to IFC staff and external clients</p>
<p># Maintain good relationships with clients and government officials, develop marketing and training tools for housing finance;</p>
<p># Mentor and coach less-experienced investment staff; and</p>
<p># Build best-practice and participate in knowledge dissemination.<br /><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></p>
<p># Master s degree in finance, economics or other related areas; accreditation as a CFA or CPA is considered a plus;</p>
<p># 8+ years of experience in the housing finance business, with evidence of growing expertise in a variety of housing finance related disciplines : origination, servicing and operations of primary and secondary market activities; project and institutional risk management; real estate based lending; and credit underwriting; portfolio supervision; regulatory work in banking supervision of commercial or specialized mortgage lending institution. Experience in mortgage-backed securitization will be considered a plus.</p>

<p>·         Practical use of different financial instruments in deal structures<br />·         Sourcing and analysing relevant sectoral information<br />·         Modelling proposed transactions and writing sections of internal investment papers<br />·         Generating performance and valuation reports on existing investments and presentations for specific opportunities</p>

<p>·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<br />·         Strong commercial judgement &#038; understanding of financial concepts.<br />·         Outstanding team player.<br />·         Self motivated with a high level of energy and adaptability.<br />·         Hard working, enthusiastic and committed.<br />·         Honesty &#038; integrity, open &#038; flexible attitude.<br />·         Cultural sensitivity &#038; awareness.<br />·         Genuine interest and knowledge of emerging markets.<br />·         Strong excel skills and proficiency in MS office suite.<br />·         Excellent technical &#038; modelling skills, strong analytical ability.</p>
<p>Experience and Knowledge Required</p>
<p>·         Graduate in economics, finance, accounting, business or similar.<br />·         Accredited MBA or CA essential.<br />·         3 &#8211; 4 years work experience in the financial sector.<br />·         Additional relevant qualification / some progress in CFA, ACCA beneficial.<br />·         Corporate Finance/Investment Management, emerging markets focus beneficial.<br />·         Strong financial modelling, research, due diligence and business analysis experience.<br />·         Strong corporate finance and transactional experience.<br />·         Good understanding of investment culture.<br />·         Strong marketing and business development experience would be beneficial.<br />·         Good exposure to direct liaison with clients.<br />·         General Africa knowledge beneficial and regional network a plus.</p>
