Universities in North Carolina founded RTI in 1958 as the first scientific organization in and centerpiece of the Research Triangle Park. RTI seeks an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the USAID funded Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, and Development project in Nigeria. The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be based in Sokoto and report to the COP. Only residents of Nigeria will be considered for this position. The position is graded level 10.
Position description: The project M&E Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing the performance monitoring system and indicators to track and report project results.
Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist— Designs, implements, and monitors system for program performance. Provides oversight for project results reporting & management in collaboration with COP & project technical staff; -Provides M&E technical assistance capacity building for local partner organizations; – Ensures successful implementation of performance monitoring plan; -Ensures achievement of and accurate reporting on project milestones; – Produces performance monitoring reports and other summaries requested by the COP and the client; – Undertakes analyses of monitoring data to derive lessons for improvement and make recommendations; – Oversees performance monitoring reporting associated with project close-out; – Develops standardized formats for reporting, performance monitoring, and evaluation among partners. Perform other duties as assigned by the COP or DCOP
Qualifications: B.A./B.S. plus 10 years experience or Masters degree plus 6 years experience. Degree in Statics, Political Science, Public Administration, Demography, Development Studies, Administration, or other related field; – A minimum of 6 years of experience designing and implementing M&E technical systems;- ability to produce concrete examples of tools and indicators developed; Knowledge of and experience with performance monitoring plans (PMPs), results frameworks, and reporting systems-Demonstrated technical success working for USAID-funded (preferred) and/or other donor programs; Demonstrated technical writing ability-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team-oriented setting; – Strong oral and written communication skills.
