    The General Assembly (GA) has responsibility for providing the strategic direction to enable AAG to achieve its objectives.  The GA meets once (1) a year.  However, there are opportunities for GA Members to join the Board of Trustees or one of the 5 Committees of the Board.

    We are particularly interested in individuals with skills in finance, human rights, communication, employment rights, development practice, impact assessment, gender issues, food rights, climate change, education issues, media, among others.

    Job Profile:

    ActionAid Ghana (AAG) with funding from Funding Leadership Opportunities for Women (FLOW) will be implementing the Women’s Rights and Sustainable Livelihoods Project over 4 years (2012-2015) with the main aim of increasing visibility and contribution of the food sector in addressing hunger and poverty. The project will use a combination of strategies such as in-country research, mobilization and coalition building, coordinated international campaigning and advocacy with the objective of increasing investment for smallholder farmers, (especially women farmers) in the Upper East and Northern Regions of Ghana.

  4. STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST GIRLS IN SCHOOL (SVAGS) PROJECT MANAGER

    The Stop Violence Against Girls in School project is being implemented over five years (2008-2013) in Ghana with the main aim of reducing violence against girls and thus increasing access and attainment rates of girls in school. In partnership with national partner organizations, ActionAid is addressing Violence Against Girls in School (VAGS) through direct community intervention and embarking on intensive advocacy work to address the lack of government legislation around this issue.  Additionally, in collaboration with an international research institution, research is being carried out to address the lack of in-depth information on VAGS.  The research will also be used as a basis to expand this work to other countries.  The Stop Violence Against Girls in School project and the Project’s Manager position are funded by The Big Lottery Fund in the UK.
