Curriculum Revision Design and Implementation At Women for Women International-Nigeria(Enugu)

Project Background
Women for Women International-Nigeria (WfWI-N) is implementing an eighteen month project funded by the MAC AIDS Fund titled, “HIV/AIDS Curriculum Improvement and Program Enhancement Project.” The overall goal of the project is to increase HIV/AIDS education, testing, and uptake of services among women, through the following key objectives:
Improve WfWI’s understanding of existing local services and barriers women face in accessing HIV/AIDS services;
Improve WfWI’s health referral system, particularly for HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention services, in the communities where we work, to better support women’s health needs;
Update, expand and enhance our existing HIV/AIDS curriculum and training materials based on information gained from the mapping exercise;
Evaluate the effectiveness of WfWI’s revised curriculum
Monitor the progress and challenges of 100 new participants in the WfWI-N 12 month program who will pilot the new Health curriculum.

Objectives of the Work: Curriculum Revision Design and Implementation
To accomplish the key objectives of the “HIV/AIDS Curriculum Improvement and Program Enhancement Project,” WfWI seeks a qualified Consultant to successfully execute the following primary activities:
Phase 1: Conduct a systematic and comprehensive review of existing WfWI Health and HIV/AIDS curriculum and training materials in Nigeria;
Phase 2:Research and report on findings of cutting edge educational techniques and successful HIV/AIDS curriculum in international development, with a focus on Africa and Nigeria in particular;
Phase 3: Utilize research findings to update, expand and enhance the Health module of the WfWI 12 month core training program, incorporating technology and other creative educational methodologies;
Phase 4: Travel to WfWI-N conduct focus groups with and test out new curriculum in coordination with HIV/AIDS Health Coordinator;
Phase 5: Train WfWI-N management staff and life skills/social empowerment trainers on delivery of new curriculum and methodology;
Phase 6: Submit conclusive report with record of work, challenges faced, lessons learned and future recommendations.

Payment Schedule

1st payment to be made upon receipt of invoice after signing of the contract
Research and report on findings of cutting edge educational techniques and successful HIV/AIDS curriculum in international development, with a focus on Africa and Nigeria in particular;

Expand and enhance the Health module of the WfWI 12 month core training program
30 October

General Terms and Considerations
The Consultant should anticipate being involved in discussions with WfWI-Nigeria and WfWI-HQ and provide recommendations on the project’s direction.
WfWI will commit to provide the necessary documentation and support needed for the consultant to successfully conduct the work.
