WaterAid Nigeria Recruits Adhoc Volunteers-Abuja, Bauchi, Benue, Ekiti, Enugu, Jigawa, Plateau

WaterAid is a UK registered international charity dedicated to the provision of safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the world’s poorest people. We support local organisations to manage low cost, sustainable projects and also provide policy support to secure the right of poor people to safe water and sanitation services.
Established since 1981, WaterAid has operations in 26 countries across the world including Nigeria. Since 1996, we have been working in partnership with the government of Nigeria to provide services to the most marginalized populations in Bauchi, Benue, Enugu, Ekiti, Jigawa and Plateau states. We believe in a world where everyone, everywhere has access to safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene by 2030.
We seek to expand our database of suitably qualified, competent and experienced professionals interested in being listed as adhoc volunteers who can be called upon at short notice to support in the provision of specific value added services required to deliver a large and highly dynamic development program. This is in line with our aim to continue to utilize and strengthen local capacity to adequately provide quality technical assistance for water, hygiene and sanitation delivery and development in Nigeria.
We will accept two categories of volunteers – experienced professionals in the areas listed below and young graduates seeking an exposure to the development sector.
Those accepted on this programme will be provided basic orientation and required training prior to being deployed on a needs basis to support our work in various communities. We may not offer monthly compensation to volunteers but will cover travel costs; provide accident insurance for the period of deployment; accommodation and a stipend for living expenses whenever we require the services of our selected volunteers.
Our preferred areas of competence include:

  1. Behaviour change communication
  2. Civil engineering /building engineering
