African Center for Innovation and Leadership Development (ACILD) is a development, non-governmental organization registered in Abuja, Nigeria and Toronto, Canada with offices in Nairobi, Toronto and Abuja. It was created to provide the finest resources for fostering innovation and leadership in Africa through the empowerment of science and technology researchers and leaders, especially youth and women. Our hope is that this capacity building will trickle down to improved food security, poverty alleviation and overall economic development within the continent.

Lead Game Designer/Creative Director at African Center for Innovation and Leadership Development (ACILD)
Location: Abuja
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Balance and adjust game play experiences to ensure the critical and commercial success of the product
Provide feedback to designers and other colleagues regarding game design features
Create core game features including story lines, role-play mechanics, and character biographies for a new video game
Devise missions, challenges, or puzzles to be encountered in game play
Guide design discussions between development teams
Develop and maintain design level documentation, including mechanics, guidelines, and mission outlines
Create and manage documentation, production schedules, prototyping goals, and communication plans in collaboration with production staff
Present new game design concepts to management and technical colleagues, including artists, animators, and programmers
Solicit, obtain, and integrate feedback from design and technical staff into original game design

Qualifications
 
¦Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Sciences, Engineering, or a related field
¦Evidence of involvement in game development (any of the following: board games, PC game, and/or mobile phone games)
¦Experience working with youths is an asset
¦Ability to think creatively: develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
¦Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD applications, Graphics Design Applications
¦Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
¦Understanding of different Nigerian cultures and foods
