Job purpose and key deliverables     Job Purpose:

To present training regarding machine operation, maintenance and services on all Secondary Manufacturing Machines and Equipment used by BAT in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMMEA) region in order to effect optimal utilisation and technical appreciation of production machines and equipment.
To design, develop and provide Modular Training Programmes (MTP) in order to contribute to performance enhancement and excellence of production staff within the EMEA region.

Key Deliverables:
Training Delivery / Technical support

• Execute strategy and apply MTP methodology for presenting quality training.
• Prepare for and present applicable training and development solutions that address the identified training needs of individuals or groups.
• Conscientiously apply assessment methodologies and practices in order to secure learning progression and consolidate newly acquired learning into the work situation through coaching, monitoring and regular follow-up.
• Maintain high level of quality, operational standards and innovation in rendering Technical support and problem solving service.
• Formally prepare and report to the Skills Development Manager – Manufacturing on the outcomes per individual, resulting from all training and technical support interventions.
• Market the EMEA-OSDC function through professional conduct and services at all times.

Programme Development

• Liaise with subject matter experts (project team) in order to determine the programme content.
• Analyse the required learning outcomes in order to determine the specific outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, equipment and EH&S.
• Arrange specific outcomes into meaningful learning units to give structure to the modular programme.
• Develop the learning content and include photos and diagrams to enhance the learners’ comprehension of the learning content.
• Write programmes in first person, conversational style in order to create a friendly, conducive training environment.
• Evaluate the programme content together with the subject matter experts to ensure factual validity.
• Develop the assessment tool to assess the competence of the learners.
• Arrange for the registration of the modular programme on the SAP System, convert to PDF and insert modules into the Virtual Technical Training Centre (VTTC) database.
• Perform scheduled revision of MTPs and update to ensure relevance of material at all times.

Essential requirements     

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
Qualified Fitter and Turner will serve as an advantage

 Desirable requirements     
Experience:

At least 3 years of thorough experience on the applicable Secondary Manufacturing Machine types.
Any experience in a Training and Development environment will serve as an advantage.

Skills:

Proficient in English Language
Computer Literate (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Knowledge and understanding of production, quality, maintenance, EH&S and administration processes and systems
