Key Responsibilities
•Oversees and provides leadership and direction to the Operations Department in all activities & Manage the daily operations according to the agreed operating principles of the business & relationships with customers.
•Develop strategies for the Operations Department of APM Terminals, in line with & contributing to the company vision & strategy, within the borders of business plan.
•Perform within the budget as set for the Operations Department.
•Compliance with HSSE policies & procedures by all operational staff.
•Participate in selection, negotiation & finalizing agreements with suppliers & customers &where appropriate be responsible for execution & maintenance of service levels as agreed.
•Exceed the Company’s and its customer’s expectations with regard to operational efficiency, productivity and reliability.
•Implement, measure and monitor performance of Global Standard Operating Procedures, policies and guidelines as established by APM Terminals.
•Improve existing methodologies, processes and measurements.
•Manage professionally all stake holders both internally as well as externally.

Who we are looking for
•An inspirational leader able to lead and motivate a large workforce.
•Minimum seven years in Operational Management roles.
•Requires a university degree in logistics, maritime and port or marine qualification at least at Masters 1ST Class level (where he has had command of a vessel) or Post graduate studies in Port and/or Terminal Management, or related business studies.
•Understanding of the container shipping industry and an ability to relate with shipping company and other associated industry managers.
•Extensive understanding of modern terminal operations including computerized terminal management systems.
•Effective stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
•Experience in finance related matters, setting budgets and reporting against financial objectives.
