We operate 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Instrumentation Mechanician located in Milnerton, South Africa through , August 8, 2017.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Calibration ,stripping and inline installation of control valves, pneumatic,hydraulic and electric actuators
- Calibration and installation of measurement transmitters, for level, pressure, temperature or flow
- Tube bending and installation for impulse lines
- Removal and flushing of level chambers and level probes
Required Qualifications
- Recognised Control Instrumentation Certificate or National Light current Diploma
- NQF level 4
- At least 5 years experience. (Preferably Refining or Petro-chemical industry)
- Drivers licence
- Understanding of permit to work, and plant safety
- Not afraid of heights and physical fit to climb narrow multi-storied catladders
- Reliable car for after hours standby duties,shutdown shift work, and overtime as per operational needs
- Understanding of PID ,logic diagrams and Loop drawings
- Experience with portable digital calibrator communicators
- Instrinsic safety and ex knowledge
- Practical experience with flange ratings and bolting
- Trade Test ( Red seal certification desirable)
