About the role

The Programme Development and Funding Manager will be responsible for the provision of leadership in securing and managing institutional funding. The role holder will work closely with Programme Funding Division globally, the country programmes in Malawi and Zimbabwe, and the Zambia and South Africa joint country programmes (managed with partner agencies). The post holder will network and build relationships with both traditional and non traditional players within the development and humanitarian sector to create new opportunities and ways of working. The role will be based in the Malawi Country Office in Lilongwe.

About you

To carry out this role, you will need substantial expertise in working with institutional donors, such as DFID, the European Union, USAID, and UN funding bodies. This should include involvement in both development of funding proposals and the management and delivery of donor funded contracts.

You will have a university degree or equivalent in business, economics, international relations, development, environmental management, agronomy, or a relevant subject. You will also have outstanding communication and networking skills for engagement, relationship building and facilitation, including consortium development.

You should be familiar with project cycle management and monitoring, evaluation and learning methodologies.
