Cuso International in Nigeria Job Vacancy for Renewable Energy Advisor-Calabar

Renewable energy is generated using sustainable and environmentally friendly methods through existing technology. The volunteer will focus his/her efforts on exploring upcoming Renewable Energy (RE) methods and jobs related to researching and developing this topic of interest.

The volunteer will help encourage and mentor entrepreneurship in this sector and will ensure that the organization will stay current on matters such as market trends, products availability, etc. The volunteer will also be responsible for researching and projecting the arrival of new technologies available while interacting with important private and public sector groups.

The overall purpose of this placement is to:

  • Support and build on the results of the Renewable Energy (RE) and Clean Technologies market assessments
  • Provide support in the creation, and implementation of renewable energy entrepreneurship training modelsdesign
  • Assist partner organizations and project beneficiaries in creating efficient systems aimed building enterprises in renewable energy value chains
  • Create a Renewable Energy private sector engagement strategy to build support and mentor network for new entrepreneurs

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Provide technical advisory services to partners and beneficiaries
  • Advise the organization on renewable energy entrepreneurship development
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic agreements with public and private organizations to improve renewable energy skills development (technical, entrepreneurial)

Essential Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering
  • Professional training in Environmental Management.
  • Professional training in Renewable Energy

Essential Professional Background:

  • 3 to 5 years’ International work experience in a development organization
  • Previous experience in developing sustainability practices or supporting sustainability initiatives
