Job purpose and key deliverables
Works in partnership with the business to:
• Participate in translation of strategies into plans and budgets, providing commercial insights relating to future performance,
• Supervise and coordinate the provision of structured and insightful analysis of financial and non-financial data to influence and enable strategic financial decisions.
Dimensions: This role is responsible for the delivery of group reporting across Global and Central Marketing & Operations Finance, with 2 direct reports
Principal Accountabilities
Co-ordinates and supervise activities to provide value added, commercially focused insights to the business.
Plan and monitor the execution of strategy through:
• Together with a team of 2 responsible for the Global reporting of the Commercial P&L and associated metrics (including NTO, COS, Marketing Investment, Brand Margin, TCI and Marketing/Production Overheads) within all relevant senior management forums (incl. GSOP, Management Board, FLT, GMLT & GOLT)
• Subject Matter Expert and central point of contact for all Commercial P&L and related SAP Management (BPC/BI) reports
• Provision of commercial insights and analysis relating to half and full year external announcements
• Provision of high quality financial information and advice to senior stakeholders and business units
• Sharing insightful financial analysis showing the financial implications of decisions
• Build strong financial and commercial awareness within business units and challenge business managers to improve performance
• Acts as an interface between business units and specialised finance functions as required
Context/ Environment
• Working together with Global Marketing Finance on that plays a critical role in Pricing strategies for the Group as well as resource deployment on a global scale to ensure that Marketing Investments are diverted to those initiatives that yield greatest shareholder value. The Department monitors performance of Marketing Initiatives, making strategic interventions as required to fine tune EPS delivery.
• Assists Operations Finance that supports the above market Global Supply Chain Service Centre structure that is responsible for the planning, procurement, manufacture and logistics for the business.
Essential requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Degree educated with professional qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA)
Strong experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
Understanding of relevant finance tools and systems, ie SAP/BI/BPC/HFM
Experience in either operations or marketing finance, preferably at an end market level
Experience in analysing reports, identifying issues and challenging management
Strong Influencing, leadership and interpersonal skills
Experience in strategic analysis & planning and execution, performance metrics, project evaluation, commercial acumen
Ability to simplify complex situations and communicate and present complex information
Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, pro-active, collaborative and consultative
Ability to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
