ActionAid Nigeria Vacancy for Manager, Social Mobilisation – Abuja

ActionAid Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill this position within the organisation:

Manager, Social Mobilisation – Abuja

The post holder will be a member of the Country Management Team and will be expected to oversee and manage all AAN projects under the Social Mobilisation strategic focus; s/he will have oversight on the policy and campaigns projects, tax justice, social investments and other campaign related projects within the organisation.

Person Specifications

Education/Qualifications

  •  First degree in Social sciences or Arts/humanities is essential
  •  Master’s degree in relevant field is essential

Experience

  • Eight (8) years minimum working experience is essential
  • At least 4 years’ experience in policy, advocacy and campaigns in Nigeria is essential
  • Experience of, and commitment to, policy influencing, networking and advocacy work is essential
  • History of working with and within movements is essential
  • Knowledge of policy, CSOs, media and youth movements landscape in Nigeria is essential
  • Experience in community-based work and engagements with CSOs and government at State and local levels is essentialExperience in social mobilization and campaign is essential.
  • Experience working with women groups and persons with disabilities is desirable

Skill/Abilities

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to maintain donor relationships and accountability in line with funding policies and standards
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent Skills in Programme Information Management
