Chief of party , Asia Chemonics

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for upcoming gender and economic development programs based in Southeast Asia. The chief of party will serve as the primary contact with USAID regarding project management and will spearhead the technical strategy development and implementation. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership in all areas of project management, including operations, administration, finance, and technical oversight
  • Build and maintain relationships with USAID country counterparts and strategic partners
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
  • Supervise staff and adhere to all USAID and Chemonics policies and procedures
  • Oversee project work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
  • Drive the project’s direction and performance

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in international development, organizational development, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of eight years of professional experience working on USAID capacity development programs in complex, dynamic work environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of Southeast Asia’s formal and informal governance structures and cultural norms and practices
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, international development assistance projects
  • Experience integrating perspectives and strategies that promote gender equality and social inclusion in economic development activities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Proven experience with iterative, flexible, adaptive team management and projects
  • Familiarity with USAID’s regulations; knowledge of Chemonics’ procedures preferred
  • Ability to create, collaborate, and adapt in addressing issues
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English; additional relevant foreign language ability preferred
