Graduate Trainees Wanted at Bristow Helicopters Nigeria Limited 2010

Bristow Helicopters (Nigeria) Limited, part of the Bristow Group and the leading Helicopter Operator in
Nigeria, is looking for potential Helicopter Pilots.
Bristow is the only aviation company in Nigeria that has consistently trained Nigerian Pilots over the past 30 years.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerian Nationals for training as Helicopter Pilots The company will sponsor its selected candidates on a Pilot Training Scheme.

Successful candidates will be employed as Pilots by Bristow in Nigeria.

Graduate Trainee

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should possess a minimum degree (2nd Class Lower Division) from a recognised university with at least one (1) year post N.Y.S.C. experience. Candidates with, or currently undergoing, a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL – A or H) course or, already in possession of an ICAO equivalent licence. would also be considered. In addition, candidates should possess the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (S.S.C.E) or its equivalent with a minimum of five (5) credits in one sitting, including English Language, Mathematics and Physics.

THE PERSON:
The candidate must be a Nigerian National and must possess the following qualities:-
a.) Between 22 – 28 years old. (No candidate will be considered aged 28 and above)
b,) Fluency in, and have a proper understanding of the English Language.

The candidate will be expected to demonstrate a keen interest and knowledge at aviation related subjects. The selection process will involve written examinations, problem solving, computer-based aptitude test, medical and series of interviews.

Bristow Helicopters (Nigeria) Limited has exicting opportunity within the West Africa Strategic Business Unit for an exceptional individual (current pilot or ex-pilot). The position offers a challenging variety of daily tasks
and additionally, allow, the individual to be part of the decision and strategy making process for this dynamic and expanding Business Unit. For a dynamic and motivated candidate the opportunities for career advancement are excellent.

Currently the Business Unit operates across nine bases in Nigeria using lights/mediums/heavies and three fixed-wing aircraft. New helicopters are planned in the coming year and new contracts have been gained from two major IOC’s. Client interaction (internally and externally) will be paramount and candidates should have the ability to interact on a daily basis with a wide range of clients on their associated operational needs and be focused to provide a high level of client service.

Job Title: Deputy Head of Flight Operations WASBU (Flight Standards) (Residential position rotation TBA)


Responsibilities:
• Operational Standards: Inclusive of Flight Operations Standards; Ground Operations Standards; Managing /Chief Pilot selection, Optimal Base Operations Structure.
• Training and Standards: In liaison with Business Unit Training and Standards Manager, Training Planning inclusive of Simulator Training Plans; selection and management of Training Captain Standards; selection and management of Line Training Captains; Application and Maintenance of Training Organization Approvals; Selection and Management of Business Unit Senior Type Training Captains.
• Regulatory Liaison and Air Operator Certification: – Liaison with NCAA for regulatory issues; attendance and active participation at regulatory meetings of NCAA, NAMA, Ministry of Aviation etc; Maintenance I renewal of all AOC certification requirements; Flight Operations Document Standards, preparation, amendment and control.
• Global Standards -liaison with Group Flight Operations Standards; Flying and Training Standards to ensure commonality of standards. Attendance at group flight operations standards meetings and implementation of agreed standards.
• Client operations and servicing client need within the remit of above.

Quality & Safety Manager West African Strategic Business Unit (WASBU)
Reporting to the Director of WASBU Operations, this senior position is an essential link in the management team.
This is an important and influential position, working proactively to continuously improve our quality and safety performance through risk management, safety promotion, audit and investigation. The role also involves liaison with regulatory authorities and the coordination of global safety initiatives.
Key operational accountabilities:
• The management and supervision of Quality & Safety Department within WASBU operations;
• The day to day management of the group safety management system, including auditing, reporting and investigation function;
• Ensuring company standards are maintained;
• Liaison with regulatory bodies and ensuring company regulatory approvals are maintained;
• Liaison with global quality & safety department.

As Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. Bristow Helicopter Will Sponsor Successful Candidates On Aircrat Engineering Training Scheme At Nigerian College Of Aviation Technology (Ncat), Zaria. The Company Will Only Employ Candidates Upon Successful Completion Of Training From Ncat.

Qualification And Experience:
Candidates Should Possess:-

1. A Minimum Qualification Of Bachelor Of Science (B.Sc) Or Bachelor Of Engineering Degree (2nd Class And Above In Any Of The Science Or Engineering) From A Recognized University With At Least One (1) Year Post N.Y.S.C.
