<p>S/he is responsible for managing a product or more in terms of developing and implementing general strategy, in addition to publications, conventions, budgeting and general positioning of the product. The Product Manager has to follow-up closely the implementation of his/her plans and/or tactics and continuously monitoring his/her products’ results versus the company objectives. He has to study in-depth and continuously his/her market (Physicians and Patients) needs and clearly define all the growth drivers and opportunities in this market related to his/her product.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p> Drive marketing strategies and programs related to his/her product line, consistent with overall business objectives utilizing traditional and innovative marketing approaches, tools and methodologies.</p>
<p> Develop strategies and tactics to achieve successful market entry of his product line into key strategic product areas with the objective of maximizing market penetration and profitability for Pfizer.</p>
<p> Manage all marketing aspects of product line development including the formulation of business plans, management of product development activities, and the execution of new product introductions.</p>
<p> Respond to customer needs through marketing leading activities.</p>
<p> Work with cross-functional teams to create the total solution required to drive product sales.</p>
<p> Partner with other Product Managers to develop and execute marketing programs to achieve synergy stated revenue, profitability and market share objectives.</p>
<p> Analyze and monitor financial and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activities</p>
<p> Collaborate with field sales management, KOLs and patients to validate, deliver and evaluate marketing strategies and programs.</p>
<p> Plan and execute product launches including pre-launch activities and post launch follow-up and support.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>

<p>The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works at the crossroads of livestock and poverty, bringing high-quality livestock science, communications and capacity building to bear on poverty reduction and sustainable development. ILRI is one of 15 centres supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). ILRI has campuses in Kenya (headquarters) and Ethiopia, with other offices located in other regions of Africa (Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria) as well as in South Asia (India, Sri Lanka), Southeast Asia (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam) and East Asia (China).</p>
<p>ILRI also manages the Biosciences eastern and central Africa (BecA) Hub, a new centre for excellence in modern plant and animal biology in Africa. BecA is an initiative developed within the framework of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD)/ African Union African Biosciences initiative. It consists of a Hub based on the ILRI campus in Nairobi, Kenya and a network of regional nodes and other affiliated laboratories and organizations throughout the region. The BecA Hub facilities are world class, including a range of molecular, plant transformation, and genomics laboratories and equipment (e.g. 454 sequencing, Biosafety level 3 laboratory, plant growth facilities). The Hub hosts and conducts research in crop, microbe and livestock areas where new developments in science offer promise to address previously intractable problems constraining Africa’s development.  Capacity building is a major goal of all activities. <p>The BecA Hub seeks to recruit a Research Technician to provide support to a team conducting genetic diversity studies for breeding strategies using molecular markers. This position is a two year term appointment with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and continued funding, and is based at ILRI’s Headquarters in Nairobi.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Conducting research using molecular tools</li>
<li>Establishing and curating of databases containing overall project data</li>
<li>Genotyping and sequence analysis</li>
<li>Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li>
<li>Ensuring good laboratory practices including proper maintenance of various laboratory equipment</li>
<li>Contributing to capacity building activities</li>
<li>Helping to coordinate permit acquisition with the institute’s health and safety office</li>

<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>

<li>MSc degree in biological sciences with two years of experience or equivalent, or alternatively a Bachelor of Science degree with five years’ experience</li>

<p>ILRI seeks to recruit a <strong>Research Technician</strong> to develop better diagnostics and vaccines against contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP). Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is a fatal lung disease of cattle caused by a mycoplasma.</p>
<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p>
<p>To identify mycoplasma components targeted by the primary (IgM) antibody response (a proxy for early infection) and to develop a prototype slide agglutination assay based on these antigens for evaluation as a point-of-care diagnostic. The candidate will be responsible for purifying recombinant mycoplasma proteins and testing them in ELISA and latex agglutination assays for specificity and sensitivity.</p>

<p><strong>The position:</strong> ILRI seeks to recruit a scientist to join a new multidisciplinary project on peri-urban dairy systems in Mali.  The project aims to characterise the performance of different dairy breed types (indigenous pure-breeds as well as indigenous by exotic cross-breeds) by obtaining data at different levels (community, farm and animal), with the monitoring of the dairy animals occurring over an 18 month period.  The project will also investigate aspects of the dairy value-chain related to germplasm delivery.  This scientist will design data collection instruments and coordinate data collection in two sites in Mali (one located in peri-urban Bamako, the other located some distance from Bamako), as well as run various workshops including farmer feed-back sessions.  She/he will also be responsible for analyzing the field data.  She/he would also play a key role in developing and sustaining the partnerships and communication activities needed to ensure that the project is conducted smoothly and achieves its objective.  She / he will work in close collaboration with other project members in a multidisciplinary team.</p>

ILRI provides state of the art labs (BSL2 &amp; 3), BSL2 large and small animal units, and a strong bioinformatics platform.</p>
<p>ILRI seeks to recruit a PhD student to join the Mycoplasma research group in February 2012.</p>
<p>CBPP (Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia), caused by Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides and present in more than 25 countries of sub-Saharan Africa is an economically important livestock disease in Africa. This PhD project aims to apply synthetic biology tools to identify and characterise Mycoplasma mycoides molecules and evaluate their function in virulence as well as for their suitability for vaccine development. The project will be carried in close collaboration with scientists at the J Craig Venter institute in Rockville, USA and INRA in Bordeaux, France.</p>

<p>ILRI seeks to recruit an Executive Assistant to the Director General. The purpose of this job is to provide professional support and assistance to the Director General by coordinating the day to day management of the Office of the Director General (DG) and proactively support the Director General (DG) in management of his work plan and time.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>

<li>Coordinate the Director General’s annual work plan: assist with monitoring and updating;</li>
<li>Manage the Director General’s diary: allocate times for meetings and specific tasks.</li>

<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>

<li>First degree in Business Administration or related field.</li>
<li>At least 5 years experience in a comparable executive assistant/senior administrative position;</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to handle high level administrative duties, excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of a heavy meeting/travel schedule.</li>
<li>Must be proficient in MS-Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;</li>

<p>The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), New Delhi as part of its new programme on “Enhancing Livelihoods through Livestock Knowledge Systems” (<strong>ELKS</strong>), funded by Navajbai Ratan Tata Trust (NRTT), an allied Trust of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) seeks to recruit a Senior Technical Officer (STO) to work in Jharkhand. The STO is expected to provide technical support on applied livestock research and development, particularly in goat and pig production and marketing for improvement in rural livelihoods of underprivileged communities. S/he will also assist data collection and support ILRI scientists in the analysis and preparation of reports, articles, and presentations.</p>
<p>The post holder will formally report to the Senior Programme Manager (ELKS), ILRI, New Delhi and will work very closely with the Trusts’ initiative in Jharkhand (CInI-Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives). In addition the post holder will support CInI in their livestock based programmes based on demand. Broad areas of support in Jharkhand include:</p>

<li>Goat and pig value chain analysis</li>

<li>Development of sustainable models for pig and goat production and marketing by smallholder tribal communities and provide handholding support for scaling out of successful models by partner organizations</li>

<p><strong>Responsibilities </strong></p>
