Job mission

Develop and provide strategic vision for the Sales & Distribution Division in order to ensure financial viability and sustainability of the Division and organisation with the revenue streams realized by the Division

KPA duties

Role Complexity:

•High degree of financial responsibility in the management of Division’s activities
•Ensure service delivery, and efficient sales and distribution by ensuring smooth running of all operational activities linked to the achievement of Division’s objectives
•Liaise with other Divisions/Departments on issues that affect the sales & distribution Division/ its external stakeholders
•Liaise with all relevant Divisions/Departments to execute co-odinated commercial plans
•Managing trade & channel dynamics in different markets

Task Complexity:

•Manage and direct activities of direct reports
•Communicate the organization’s culture and image to internal and external stakeholders
•Manage and lead teams to prepare the Division’s budget
•Present the Division’s budget to MTNN management for approval
•Oversee sales operations in all regions
•Ensure all activities of the department are in line with MTNN policies, processes and procedures and the overall objective of the company
•Manage risk pertaining to the Division and its resultant effect on the company as a whole
•Manage relationships with a number of external organisations mainly trade partners & channel members and new markets
•Ensure accurate reporting across regions and engaging the Business on trends & changes as it affects sales & distribution and commercial objectives of MTNN
•Ensure the department contributes to the profitability of MTNN and MTN Group through the establishment of appropriate checks and balances in the system and the alignment of all functional areas in the Division

Supervisory Complexity/Leadership Complexity/Managerial complexity

•Lead and motivate direct reports
•Influence and give substantial input to decisions made by the MTNN board
•Provide & communicate the Division’s vision to all stakeholders
•Motivate and influence activities across all departments within & outside S&D
•Instilling best leadership practices amongst all S&D operations in different Regions

Educational requirements

•First degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline
•MBA will be desirable

Experience required

•At least 15 years work experience of which 5 years heading the sales function of a large organisation/ FMCG. Preferably a multinational
•At least 15 years work experience of which 5 years heading a business development or management function or role
