Customer Service Agent – Counter – Maersk Line, Cape Town, South Africa

Job overview purpose/summary

Complete all customer service related tasks at the counter, in support of the overall customer service processes.

Key responsibilities   Serve as a contact point for the customer service, freight cashier and intermodal teams regarding special instructions, clarification to payments or issues with cargo release.

  • Exports:
    • ·         Ensure that all the requirements are met as per customer SOPs.
    • ·         Check for payment settled
    • ·         Print and release documents including negotiable bills of lading, waybills, receipt for shipment bills and certificates.
  • ·         Imports:
    • ·         Ensure that all the requirements are met as per customer SOPs.
    • ·         Check for payment settled
    • ·         Update empty turn in depot and stamp Container Terminal Order
    • ·         Collect original Transport Document
    • ·         Update release party in GCSS
    • ·         Print and release documents including negotiable bills of lading, waybills, receipt for shipment.
