Context/Scope


Lead process improvement efforts using Lean methodology to make them simpler, better and faster, align projects to the 4 C’s (Customer, Cash, Competition, Compliance) ensuring benefits are realized. This role will deliver Lean events that support the long-term strategic goal for the function / business. Individual projects/events will last between 1 to 12 weeks.

Eliminate wasted effort, reduce lead times, improve customer satisfaction, effect standard and efficient processes that meet compliance standards, release cash and remove rework.


Financial Responsibility


  • Determine the cost of running each project
  • Estimate benefits to be realized as a result of running the project
  • Manage Lean expenses associated with the project

Purpose of Role


Deliver against the Lean Performance Promise. Act as the principle point of contact between the Lean Deployment Office & the business Process Owner Group as well as 3rd parties (i.e. IBM, Accenture, IS contractors etc…)involved in Lean projects, Work with colleagues in various locations globally, as required, Take decisions that are in line with overall Lean strategy, ensure that the needs of the business/ functions are clearly met, Identify opportunities to use Lean and facilitate Lean workshops, Manage team members on a Lean event to deliver high-impact results; mentor Lean Coaches in training and participants of the Lean events in Lean Six Sigma methodology, Tie into appropriate Process Owner Group operating rhythms and initiatives, Obtain Senior Lean Coach accreditation through appropriate training, testing, mentoring, and project execution


Top Accountabilities


  • Drive process simplification and measurable improvements in key operations areas via delivery of Lean events ensuring that the deliverables are met as defined – on time, within budget and to quality, maintaining project Governance including CARM compliance and RISK Management
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the project from inception to handover to IS project manager or to IMC as appropriate maintaining oversight of improvements until these become BAU.
  • Drive adoption of Lean culture across Diageo through cross functional collaboration and implementation of process improvements.
  • Work with the Lean Director and other staff in driving project deployment strategy, goals and priorities


Experience


5+ years business experience in customer facing roles, 2 years experience in functional & team leadership roles in any of the following areas: OTC, PTP, STP, Supply, Innovation, Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing. Project Management experience, Business Process Improvement, Partnership Relationship, Executional Excellence. Prior Lean or Six Sigma experience desired

MIN: Undergraduate Degree
