KACE, the manufacturer of the popular KACE systems management appliances, was acquired by Dell earlier this year.  The rapidly growing product line is now known as the Dell KACE family of systems management appliances and is being successfully sold by the across all segments within Dell. The Dell KACE Sales Engineer is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting team within Dell, addressing the significant market opportunity within focus countries in the South Africa and high potential markets within Africa with a highly differentiated systems management solution.
The Dell KACE Sales Engineer will function as the KACE Product Specialist and SME driving direct and indirect sales of Dell’s Family of Systems Management appliances into medium business, large enterprise and public sector accounts in the South Africa and other high potential markets in Africa. Working in tandem with the Dell KACE Sales Team, this is expected to advocate, develop, drive, support and close business in the territory, in tandem with the Dell regional teams. The ideal candidate will have a blended enterprise software/solution sales and strong technical background and be proficient in enterprise software/solution sales methodologies and processes. The candidate will also need to have a strong understanding of systems management technology and market. This person will work closely with Dell’s regional sales teams, as well Storage and Software Product Specialists to further grow the Dell KACE portfolio.
Primary responsibility is to support the regional teams to source and develop Dell KACE opportunities and the subsequent pre sales technical assistance necessary to achieve the region’s quota, which includes Dell KACE business. This position is expected to travel within the region as needed to develop and close business. Dell KACE Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field and inside sales force. They are responsible for demonstrating the Dell KACE systems management product lines and actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products.

Qualifications:  General 
Candidate must be an experienced “expert” in the area of systems management with a high acumen to related technologies.
Candidate must have exceptional customer-facing sales/consulting communication skills, a high level of industry awareness and business acumen.
The Sales Engineer will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the systems management landscape and will be able to articulate how the Dell KACE solutions differ from other manufacturers.  The Sales Engineer will also be able to position how these differences will impact the customer’s solution.
The Sales Engineer will use their advanced technical knowledge to drive sales while insuring customer satisfaction through proper expectation management.
The Sales Engineer should have 6 to 8 years outside pre-sales or sales experience and 3 to 5 years of experience focused on positioning and selling systems management and/or complex enterprise software solutions.
The Sales Engineer must be a self-starter and always seek opportunities to advance sales and industry presence for Dell.

Strong communication and presentation skills.
Candidate must be able to work effectively, independently and with existing Dell sales and channel teams.
Candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong written and oral communications skills, exemplary selling skills, and good time management skills.
A college degree is preferred as well as some level of technical certification (MCSE, PMI, EMC, etc).
