Welder/Fitter Job in Oil and Gas Company

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine. Threads pipe, using pipe-threading machine. Bends pipe, using pipe bending tools and pipe bending machine.
• Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
• Coordinates with foreman to perform assigned welding projects.
• Assists with fabrication, maintenance and repairs of offshore equipment.
• Assembles and welds, applying geometry, physical properties of metal machine weld shrinkage, and welding techniques
• Helps maintain all welding equipment and tools.
• Performs general housekeeping and maintenance duties.
• Follows all safety procedures and uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: • General knowledge of all equipment and tools necessary to perform the duties required of a welder/fitter. • Two years welding experience • Good verbal communication skills • Must be able to read and interpret drawings • Must be able to weld multiple processes • Ability to work independently and perform simple tasks with limited supervision. • Ability to work well with others • Physical ability to respond to emergency situations. • Welding Certification Must be able to pass a drug test seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
