Liaise with focal points presences (including Programmes Directorates) regarding their contributions to updating the ECOWAS website.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate information on the activities of the Directorate from their focal points;

  • Articulate these into coherent narratives for validation;

  • Edit material/photos for use on the website;

  • Generate additional materials that will enrich the site in support of the activities of the Directorate;

  • Undertake any other activities in furtherance of the mandate of the Directorate;

  • Perform other duties as required, including reading proofs and other language-related activities

Qualifications/Experience/Skills

Educational Qualification

  • Ordinary National Diploma (HND) or the equivalent in communications, journalism, social sciences or the Art;

Experience

  • Five (5) years of progressively hands on experience in journalism; proven experience in generating and articulating disparate information into coherent and readable material that captures the essence and activities of the organisation;

Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)

  • Communication – Ability to speak, write and present clearly, concisely and effectively; ability to listen to others;

  • Teamwork – Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender;

  • Accountability – Ability to deliver expected outputs within the prescribed time and in keeping with required quality standards; ability to operate in compliance with organizational regulations and rules;

Age

Candidates must not be over fifty (50) years of age at the point of recruitment

Language

Excellent oral and written communication skills in any of the official ECOWAS languages: English, French and Portuguese. A good working knowledge of a second official language would be an advantage.
