ActionAid Nigeria is seeking to recruit consultants to conduct a review of its governance function.

The purpose of the governance review is to use a participatory approach to identify achievements and good practice as well as areas to improve in the current governance practice of ActionAid Nigeria.

Main objective of the governance review: To facilitate a process to celebrate areas of successes and identify areas of improvement in the ActionAid Nigeria governance arrangement, systems and practices.

The review will be guided by the Country Strategic Plan and the priorities identified therein.

The main areas of focus will be to use principles of good governance based on the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) 2.0 to look at three core aspects of the governance arrangement:Structure (including sub-committees)Systems (policies, reporting)People (Board, Country Director (CD), practice)Main Outputs:The team will prepare a report that shall be agreed with ActionAid Nigeria and include:a) Scope and approach of governance reviewb) Main findings and conclusions of reviewc) Areas of good practiced) Recommendations for strengthened governance practicee) Proposed action plan ActionAid Nigeria governance development plan) and plan for required IS support if anyf) Learning to be shared with International Secretariat and other ActionAid International Members.

Please note that ActionAid Nigeria will deduct and remit to the Federal Inland Revenue (FIR) a 5% Withholding Tax from the total consultancy fees in accordance with the Nigerian Tax Law. To this effect, the firm will be required to provide its Tax Identification Number (TIN).
