JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CATERING MANAGER
Negotiating price with clients while assessing their requirements.
Keeping track and ensuring that payment for each service is made at and when due.
Supervising catering and waiting staff both at the kitchen and at the event.
Delegating and coordinating multiple events while meeting each events timeline & specifications and quality of product.
Monitoring the quality of the service provided during events;
Keeping a close eye on event supervisors in the handling of preparations before and after events
Ensure that all home and office deliveries run smoothly and timely. Delegate wisely.
Manager to work closely with clients to ensure that their event is a success.
Assist HR in recruiting, disciplining and training staff
Responsible for the appearance of the sitting arrangement before and during the event.
The manager must train and schedule staff to work events. The catering manager must make sure he has enough staff to work an event.
Establish relationship with clients, liaise with suppliers and create vendor relationships.
The catering manager is responsible for comparing the prices of different suppliers and making sure he is getting the best service for the money
Providing feedback to MD on all activities
Liaising with the MD on any issues that is affecting the business.
Providing weekly reports to the MD on the happenings in the company
Ensuring that all supervisors report back on their carried out duties.
Develop and manage social media presence
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience should be 2 years and above in a catering company or similar industry
Ability to multi-task and delegate
Ability to work under pressure and apply professionalism at all times.
Leadership, communication and team management skills
Reporting skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable
Social media skills
Ability to negotiate with clients
