British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) Recruits AIT MANAGER West African Market

Job Purpose

To provide continuous, co-ordinated and comprehensive management of all anti-illicit operations and strategy and maintain perfect synergy with relevant stakeholders in the fight against counterfeit and contraband cigarettes within the West Africa Markets (Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Congo, Benin, Togo ….)

Role Responsibilities

Business:
Provide timely advice based on analysis / assessment/ recent history and impact of illicit activities to enable well informed business decisions.
Contribute to Marketing Planning Cycle to meet Business and Functional objectives.
Develop and execute an AIT Strategy and plan to meet company business objectives within this region.
Continuously review and map illicit routes within the West Africa Markets to enable effective enforcement by relevant stakeholders in the different countries.
Establish and develop plans to enhance awareness on illicit cigarette products within the Company and further entrench the fight against illicit cigarettes as a collective business effort
Contribute to a proactive programme of intelligence gathering and information sharing by the different AIT Managers and AIT service providers within these markets.
Drive effectiveness and efficiency of the AIT budget and other related costs.
Assess, evaluate, and coordinate the activities of AIT service providers within WAM Markets. Monitor the effectiveness of contractual services and review service scopes.
Demonstrate the required knowledge for tracking and monitoring of goods/containers originating from all parts of the world to markets like Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Congo…..as destination,
Put in place an effective strategy towards the destruction of all seized illicit cigarettes/products within a reasonable time frame by relevant government agencies and structures.

People:
Work in close collaboration with CORA and other functions within the company to enable the business derive maximum benefit from anti-illicit activities within the West Africa Markets.
Develop and maintain close working relationship the different anti-illicit enforcement agencies in West Africa Markets e.g DNCC, Customs, Ministry of Trade etc
Maintain effective liaison with relevant external stakeholders especially Customs, Law Enforcement Agencies / Global Intelligence organizations and other government agencies to obtain practical and effective anti-illicit enforcement both in-Market and regionally.
Maintain close contact / liaison with other AIT Managers in other multinationals within the sub-region towards effective information sharing and enforcement planning.

Essential requirements
A first degree from a reputable University
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
Ability to speak and write English and French
A high level of communications skill with ability to explain and defend difficult issues .
Excellent skills in Excel and Power Point presentations
Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

Desirable requirements
Display a sound and mature judgement/ decision-making ability: Ability to make swift, balanced decisions in emergencies or when rapid response is required.
Demonstrate the required capability to engage stakeholders towards facilitating anti-illicit enforcement and activities within the West Africa Markets
Ability to travel and relocate in very short notice is an advantage
