Position Summary

This position will provide Payroll Support to the Houston office and International locations. This position will be responsible for the processing of monthly and semi-monthly payrolls within SAP including processing time records, calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, editing, making corrections, and adjustments as needed. This customer focused individual will also resolve customer issues related to payroll and timekeeping by reviewing and resolving issues. This specialist must be extremely detail-oriented, and will have experience running high volume payroll in a high-paced environment.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of in-house full cycle payroll experience.
  • Excellent computer skill
  • Payroll experience with rotational employees or oil and gas strongly preferred
  • Must be experience in utilizing SAP for payroll processing
  • ADP tax and garnishment experience preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and very detailed oriented
  • Understanding of payroll procedures and legislation
  • FPC or CPP a plus

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right first time, every time and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
  • Comply with Pacific Drilling Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards and applicable process documentation.
  • Analyze HR employee action data to ensure the system of record is up to date and accurate based off Success Factor process automation and onboarding modules.
  • Process in-payroll using SAP for U.S.-based semi-monthly and/or monthly international companies.
  • Process and enter all garnishments and tax deductions administered in ADP
  • Analyze all payrolls for accuracy before payments are made, focusing on doing things right the first time, every time.
  • Monitor submissions of approved timesheets; ensure valid data transfers within timekeeping system using CATS.
  • Review daily bank account balances and responds to wire and ACH rejects in Citibank
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings for distribution to field office for tax preparation.
  • Assist with yearend projects and W2 process.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information in SAP
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, state and federal statutory regulations.
  • Acts as a point of contact to employees regarding payroll-related questions, concerns, policies and procedures.
  • Develops appropriate processes and procedures to support continuous improvement
  • Maintain full SOX compliance.
