Roles & Responsibilities:
  • This role reports to the Board of Directors and has business leadership responsibility for profitable growth, stakeholder engagement, market recognition, development and implementation of market and business growth strategies. The primary focus of the role is to productively engage the market and ensure sustainable and profitable growth in business performance through visionary leadership of the management team and cost-effective deployment of corporate resources towards the achievement of the bank’s mission critical business objectives.
 Key Accountabilities:
•Envisions and defines short and long-term direction of the business with clearly articulated plans for achieving business growth, driving wider reach and penetration across existing markets and new geographies.
•Coordinates the designs and deployment of appropriate business development and operational management strategies to maximise and increase market share with focus on enhancing the company’s reputation as a respectable mortgage product/ services brand
•Establishes and exploits good, mutually beneficial business relationships (of trust and influence) with key stakeholders, in order to maximise access to market opportunities and ensure productive harnessing of available or emerging business opportunities
•Coordinates the development of business and operational plans for Board approval and sets and agrees performance targets with the management team, ensuring regular monitoring and evaluation of actual against planned results.
•Evaluates operational activities and business decisions from a commercial perspective, aimed at achieving short-term financial efficiency and longer-term business objectives
•Creates and maintains a conducive and performance driven
work environment that supports the attraction, development and motivation of quality staff for the company.
•Ensures that appropriate policies and controls are in place to guide the bank’s business operations, in line with CBN guidelines and other statutory provisions.

Skills, Competencies and Experience:
•Strong industry knowledge of mortgage banking business with sound grasp of business strategy, market dynamics and stakeholder engagement
•Extensive credit and risk management experience with demonstrable capacity to secure funding from local and internal finance institutions
•Proven track record of performance in new business development and deals closure
•Significant customer engagement, retention and quality service experience with good ability to develop and influence business relationships
•Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience engaging the board productively
•Experience working with executive management and engaging external stakeholders (board, corporate customers, regulatory authorities etc.)
•Minimum of 18 years’ experience in the Banking industry with at least 10 years in a Senior Management position
•Minimum of first degree in a related discipline, while possession
of MBA and membership of relevant professional Bodies, as added advantage.
