About the role

The Digital Content Manager is a key new role and has a wide range of responsibilities playing the lead role in developing and implementing a new website and an online strategy for Christian Aid Ireland.  The post holder will be responsible for the effective content management of Christian Aid Ireland’s website, search engine and digital asset optimization ensuring that content is coordinated with other communications outputs and that key messages respond to organizational priorities and site-specific needs.  Also be responsible for the delivering of a wide range of activities that develop and support Christian Aid Ireland’s social media presence including visual storytelling and building dialogue with users.  The post holder will be responsible for writing, editing and commissioning digital content as well as working closely with colleagues across the organization, answering queries and building relationships, ensuring any supplied content is optimized for online consumption.

About you

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent; have excellent communication skills; written, oral and visual, including substantive experience of online copywriting and editorial.  You will be highly experience in the production of work / task plans and editorial calendars; have knowledge of content management systems (HTML, Dreamweaver, Tridion, Drupal).  You will need to have experience of editing materials to engage Christians imaginatively (including worship, prayer, Bible study and theological reflections).  A good understanding of how different Christian Aid audiences engage with development and international aid issues.

You will need to have significant technical expertise in content building, social media outreach, user journeys, linking, search engine optimisation, digital asset optimisation and basic HTML. Have experience in using Google Analytics and analyzing online performance and excellent knowledge of the changing digital environment, the content needs of different platforms and a good understanding of how different Christian Aid audiences engage with development and international aid issues.

You will have thorough understanding of the editorial process and a wider appreciation of copyright and libel law and have the ability to work within a wider marketing communications context and an understanding of how digital platforms interact with and support offline initiatives.

The location is flexible, based in Belfast or Dublin

Salary if based in Dublin will be €47,335 per annum.
