Finance Officer (1146) Job Vacancy At Christian Aid-Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo

The DRC programme works with different types of partners and your work will help enable those partners deliver results for several million of the most marginalized people.  The programme is currently going through a transitional period; from an old strategy document to a new one, from geographically dispersed projects to a resolution to be geographically focused, from donor-driven to strategic fund raising.

About the role

The primary role of the Finance Officer will consist of managing financial aspects at the Eastern part of DRC level and particularly the consolidation of the accounting, reporting, internal and external audits, as well as contributing to the drafting of budgets and reports to our donors and clients.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for following recommendations made in previous audits, support and strengthen the finance team by establishing standard tools for improved funds management and capacity building.

This role is supervised by the Finance Manager. The Finance Officer may also contribute to discussions and interaction with our clients/donors, contributing to our communication and advocacy work.

About you

You must hold a professional Degree level (bac+3) in Finance and Accounting, and should have a working knowledge of Congolese legislation.

Preferably we will need you to have a minimum of 5 years of experience with International NGOs or with financial institutions.

It’s important to have experience in managing multi-donor and multi-partner programs and should have prior team management experience.

You must have a knowledge and experience using accounting and management software.

You must have a knowledge and mastery of work-related software  (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet)

Fluency in French and English is required.

You will be able to communicate a strong and compelling case to donors on why they should support Christian Aid at this time. You will have extensive knowledge of the major donor landscape. Your strong fundraising and team-building skills will be matched by your strategic planning and leadership abilities. You are confident operating in a large complex organization.
