Panagora Group Job Vacancy for Knowledge Management Specialist – Ethiopia

The purpose of the Global Health Supply Chain– Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC- PSM) Ethiopia Program is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of United States Government (USG)-funded public health initiatives in Ethiopia. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and Population and Reproductive Health. In supporting USG-funded global health activities, GHSC-PSM will develop and manage a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain management initiatives in collaboration with FMOH, PFSA, and other partner organizations.

GHSC-PSM Ethiopia supports country strategies and priorities that fall under the following three project objectives:

  • Health commodity procurement and logistics,
  • Systems strengthening technical assistance, and
  • Global and local collaboration to improve the long-term availability of health commodities.

Purpose

The Knowledge Management Specialist will report directly to the USAID GHSC-PSM Knowledge Management/M&E Director and is responsible for the Knowledge Management component of the program as well as spearheading the program’s information dissemination and training activities, to include preparing and facilitating presentations/workshops. This person will collect and disseminate lessons learned and share successes during GHSC-PSM implementation. This person is responsible for collating, editing, and finalizing program activity reports and success stories. The Knowledge Management Specialist will participate in team building and work planning activities and work closely with program partners and M&E team members, to ensure timely and consistent communication of program impact. The Knowledge Management Specialist will design, innovate, and create multi-media messages of program successes, supervising consultants (where applicable). The Knowledge Management Specialist will also be involved in establishing and reviewing M&E database and linkages with the current LMIS and HCMIS systems with FMOH, PFSA, and other partners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and disseminate lessons learned and best practices to internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Compile and analyze relevant activity data from partners to demonstrate GHSC-PSM progress for contractual reports and/or presentations.
  • Collate, edit and/or write reports related to knowledge management activities. This is to include: quarterly updates for Knowledge Management component inclusion in a formal report, quarterly/ annual/final program activity reports, weekly wonders, success stories
  • Work with the M&E team and other program managers to interpret and report on data.
  • In collaboration with M&E team and program managers, facilitate and conduct project-specific assessments that will inform decision making and promote learning.
  • Strategically plan and organize innovative methods to disseminate the program’s FSP information. This may include written, video or internet methodologies.
  • Identify and oversee consultants (where applicable).
  • Confirm, Liaise and attend meetings with collaborating GHSC-PSM, PFSA, FMOH, and other relevant partners.
  • Participate in face-to-face meetings, telephonic conference calls and other relationship management responsibilities with project officers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Communicate with partner organizations in their contributions to GHSC-PSM.
  • Schedule meetings with consultants and stakeholders and arrange logistics as needed.
  • Design and maintain a multiple user platforms for effective knowledge management.
  • Develop and maintain communities of practice to facilitate the sharing of knowledge
  • Create/Innovate social media information dissemination platforms to communicate program activities.
  • Generate relationships with and collaborate with contribution partners.
  • Prepare and facilitate presentations.
  • Inform GHSC-PSM Country Director of GHSC-PSM progress or challenges.
  • Exhibit Chemonics values and build culture of “Living our Values” within the team
  • Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures and promote them throughout GHSC-PSM staff.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor of record

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience with knowledge management including writing reports or technical articles and the creation of knowledge management strategies
  • Experience working with social media platforms preferred
  • Experience with writing reports and success stories for USAID or a major international donor preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or other advanced degree preferred (in Knowledge Management, Public Health, or relevant)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Working experience in M&E and knowledge management is advantageous
  • Written and spoken English fluency required
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

Supervision

The USAID GHSC-PSM Knowledge Management Specialist will report directly to the Knowledge Management/M&E Director or his/her designee.

Level of Effort and Location

This long-term position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with intermittent travel throughout the program’s target regions as needed.
