CAFOD is the official international development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. CAFOD’s work in Africa includes programmes with partner organisations in the East Africa region to combat poverty and injustice and to build a strong and dynamic civil society.
We are now looking for a committed individual to contribute to the development our Justice, Peace building and Conflict transformation programmes in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania) in collaboration with partner organisations and community members, and to strengthen the presence of CAFOD within East Africa. The post involves supporting partner organisations in the implementation of their Peace Building and Conflict Transformation programme activities, monitoring their projects and evaluating their impact.
You will have significant development work experience in the East Africa context, with proven experience in project or programme development especially Justice and Peace Building programmes. Good interpersonal skills and confidence in building relationships with a range of partners are essential, as is good written English and a working knowledge of Swahili. The post is based in Nairobi but with frequent travel to Tanzania, Uganda and other parts of Kenya.

CAFOD is one of the UK’s leading relief and development agencies. We are looking for a Programme Officer to work in partnership with local organisations and the Church to achieve social justice and development.
A member of the Latin America and Caribbean team, you will head our office in La Paz to support and develop our Bolivia programme. You will have work experience in development NGOs, preferably in Latin America, and skills in programme cycle management, writing funding proposals, strategic planning and capacity-building with Church and civil society partners.
A commitment to working in partnership, cross-cultural sensitivity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as are fluent Spanish and English. The post is based in La Paz but will require some travel to London.

The Darfur Crisis is a complex emergency that continues to unfold; Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance and Caritas Internationalis are responding together to the significant humanitarian need on the ground. To support local partners to design, implement and monitor programme response based on identified local needs as part of CAFOD’s ‘Peace and Reconciliation’ programme in Sudan. The Programme Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with partners, at both operational and strategic level, in line with the Country Strategy Paper and agreed Programmatic Frameworks, facilitating assessments, programme design, monitoring reviews and technical capacity building of partners as appropriate. In line with CAFOD’s values and working principles, the Programme Officer is responsible for carrying out the appraisal, monitoring and review of partner programmes, facilitating learning and best practice. The Programme Officer also has a responsibility to capture learning from their work and feed this learning back into the wider organisation.
This post will require frequent travel within Sudan and occasionally internationally.

CAFOD mission is to promote human development and social justice in witness to Christian Faith and gospel values.
We are looking for someone to provide humanitarian expertise, emergency response capacity, support and advice to CAFOD’s programme staff and partners in Sudan. To contribute to the delivery of effective and high quality humanitarian assistance, preparedness, and risk reduction through CAFOD programmes. Central to CAFOD’s humanitarian response is working with and alongside CAFOD partners in providing support, expertise and building long-term capacity.
This post will be based in Juba, but will also require frequent travel within Sudan and occasionally internationally.

Finance and Support Manager, Southern Africa

Contract: 3 year contract
Salary: £23,621 – £30,707 p.a.

CAFOD is the official international development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. CAFOD’s work in Africa includes programmes with partner organisations in Southern Africa to combat poverty and injustice and to build a strong and dynamic civil society.
The regional programme currently comprises of work in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.

As part of the Southern Africa team the Finance and Support Manager is responsible for accounting for income and expenditure in the Regional Office based in Harare, Zimbabwe and supporting the Mozambique country office as well as managing a small team to facilitate the smooth running of the Regional Office. The role includes:
· Preparing monthly reports for CAFOD London.
· Preparing financial information for managers as required
· Reviewing programme financial reports to donors prepared by programme staff and ensuring donor compliance.
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant or at least have a diploma in accounting, finance or a similar qualification and have knowledge and hands-on experience of accounts, bookkeeping and budgeting. You will be competent in accounting software packages and spreadsheets and have hands-on experience of office IT systems, including MS Office. You will have excellent written and spoken English and experience in managing others – ideally in an administrative or office management capacity.
