The British Council is looking for a suitably qualified individual to fill the post of a ‘Projects & Finance Manager‘ in Rwanda. JOB AIM: To manage specific projects within the country programme in support of the British Council’s overall purpose. CORE DUTIES: Project management: To manage and implement selected projects within the country programme, as directed by senior colleagues. BUDGET MANAGEMENT: To manage operational expenditure against budgets for each project managed. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:Oversee / manage country daily financial tasks and provide general accounting and financial services in line with SAP requirements. Ensure budgets are in line with country plan and strategy. PARTNERSHIPS:To maintain good relationships with project partners. MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS:Ensure that effective marketing and communications strategies are in place and are implemented effectively for each project. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:To line-manage, where appropriate, one or more officers to support project delivery, ensuring that full range of performance management tasks are carried out for each line managee. Assume full responsibility for own professional development in consultation with line manager. STAFF WELFARE:To support all administrative processes affecting the arrival, presence and exit of UK appointed staff to ensure they can carry out their duties effectively. ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES: Proven track record based on evidence supporting possession of the following essential behavioural competencies: Achievement, Analytical Thinking, Professional Confidence, Holding People Accountable, Leading and Developing Others, Relationship Building for Influence.
