In P&G’s Human Resource (HR) function, you will partner with business leaders to transform organizations to align with business strategies, lead change & develop individual & organizational capability.
This physician is the first point of contact for all medical issues related to the respective business technologies. Works with Regional Medical Leaders (RMLs) and the Corporate Medical Director to insure that the medical needs of the business are being met. Develops capability of sub-regional medical leaders who are designated for GBU medical support.
Responsibilities include:
– Provide occupational health stewardship, including the development of global external relation strategies, for all business products or processes technologies (e.g. acrylic acid gelling material, Enzymes, Paper, chemicals, etc.).
– Develops policies and procedures needed to meet employee health assurance and health stewardship expectations for their respective business technologies, including government regulatory interactions.
– Provide technology-related training for deployment through the Regional Medical Leaders. Manages medical aspects of the innovation pipeline.
– Maintain current knowledge in business product/process development plans in order to proactively assure safe introduction of the new product/process into Company operations.
– Remains current in scientific knowledge in the business technologies to meet Company health assurance and business needs.
– Serves as a technical resource to site health personnel on medical questions regarding business products and processes.
– Maintains sufficient involvement in scientific publications and meetings to assure adequate company input on scientific opinion and regulatory/legislative positions on the medical technologies to meet business needs.
– Assures that all health systems capability measurement tools regarding business technologies are used in a globally calibrated fashion across all business units. In coordination with RMLs, oversees management of health allegations and other actions (e.g. scientific publication) which could impact the use of a key technology.
– Provides advice, guidance, and technical direction to other global medical resources. Works with regional and site medical, as well as toxicologists, legal, human resources and safety resources to assess the risk of occupational exposures on health. Assists with risk communication messaging for technology related allegations and health risks
Qualifications
– 10 years experience in providing medical leadership in large organizations, either in multinational companies, non-governmental organizations, military or public sectors.
– Must possess certification through the American Board of Preventive Medicine in any of the following specialties: Occupational Medicine (preferred), General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, or Aerospace Medicine.
– Must possess an Ohio license or be capable of obtaining one
– Candidate must have capability to develop broad policy based on medical standards, best practice, or other norms. Must be an excellent communicator and must demonstrate ability to influence others.
– Must have a thorough working knowledge of epidemiology and toxicology and can demonstrate how their knowledge in these disciplines has been used to produce practical and sustainable solutions to business needs.
– Must be a very good written communicator. Must be a thorough researcher and can demonstrate previous use with relevant source material databases. Absolutely must function as a team player and must uphold promises and meet agreed deadlines. Must be a proactive leader – this means not waiting for events to come their way, but, through a thorough understanding of the business situation, anticipating and acting on needs. Bringing passion to the role is important if combined with a broad perspective approach to all situations.
– This position is predominately a management position and there is very little clinical work. That being said, clinical experience in a primary care specialty or in clinical occupational medicine is an additional desired experience.
