Job Description
The Marine Coordinators’ essential scope of work is defined as follows:
 Responsible for marine construction and coordination operations especially related to dredging and pile driving operations
 Ensure that all marine operations are in accordance with contract specifications
 Report to and provide back up support to Company Representative Yard Development in marine related operations.
 Implement CPY corporate / project policies, procedures and instructions related to marine operations
 Ensure that CPY and local Safety codes, statutory approvals and standards related to marine operations are complied with.
 Provide principal expertise in all marine related activities to ensure execution of marine operations in compliance with Regulatory rules and international standards.
 Ensure the efficient preparation for marine related operations including meetings such as HIRA, HAZID and site attendance as at when required.
 Liaise with EPC Contractor to ensure involvement of relevant third parties with regards to verifications as required.
 Identify interface with regulatory authorities and follow up EPC contractor’s efforts at procurement of necessary permits for marine related activities.
 Interface with nominated Nigerian authorities for necessary permits and consents related to marine operation.
 Be the focal point for marine interfaces with CPY FPSO Hull team in Korea for feedbacks in FPSO transportation design and all related activities.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
 Project Management centre in Lagos with also a Company Team in SHI Korea.
 Detailed engineering of Topsides is taking place in Lagos.
 Construction activities partly in Nigeria and partly in Korea.
 Part of FPSO integration will be in Nigeria.
 Security issues and possible difficult relationships with local communities may arise at some worksites.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
 Support and enforce the project HSEQ Project objectives relating to marine activities.
 Report on agreed basis to CPY Yard Representative on marine related work progress and challenges.
 Press for adherence to agreed standards for marine activities.
 Confirm with EPC contractor availability of necessary permits from Nigerian authorities for execution of marine related activities.
Job Requirements
 College / University degree in engineering
 At least 15 years experience in Marine Construction operations with emphasis on marine and heavy civil construction operations to include safety, pile driving, mooring systems, dredging, slope and environmental protection
 Marine Warranty experience.
 Knowledge of regulatory rule and local / international standards
 Ability to work as part of a team
 Language: Fluent English.
