British America Tobacco Recruits Trade Marketing (Sales)Representative-London

We are looking for two Trade Marketing Representatives for field -based vacancies in the territory covering:

  • Croydon, Banstead, Caterham, Godstone, Sevenoaks and Westerham;
  • Redhill, Gatwick, Crawley, Battle, Haywards Heath, Tonbridge Wells and Robertsbridge;

Are you a great communicator with a drive for success?  To win as a Trade Marketing Representative (TMR) in British American Tobacco you will need to be able to work independently, developing a trade marketing and distribution plan for your assigned territory and executing the plan with excellence to ensure that it meets all of its objectives (brand, volume, distribution, trials and in-store marketing objectives).
You will need to build strong relationships with the retailers in your territory, maintaining a strong business focus and consumer understanding.  Your attention to detail will need to be sharp to ensure that market data is reported accurately; this will ensure that the smartest business decisions can be made on the back of it.
A British American Tobacco (BAT) TMR is responsible for driving brand awareness within their territory.  To enable them to do this they will need to show the ability to engage with retailers and build relationships to ensure BAT brands are top of mind.  BAT TMRs will need to stand out from the rest due to the Retail Display Ban being implemented from April 2015; they will play a crucial role in educating retailers to generate brand trial and ultimately gain new long term loyal consumers.  They should take ownership of their territory ensuring high level of outlet/account planning to maximise selling out opportunities.  A TMR should also be a strong team player who is able to drive delivery of their own operational objectives to then support their team in delivering the wider area and Regional goals.
Principle Accountabilities
Business Focus
Maximise trade basics ( Stock, Weighted distribution, volume)
Implement cycle marketing activities.
Develop and implement outlet / account plans.
Manage efficiently territory assets and financial assets (materials, cash, investments)
Consumer Ownership
Ensure optimum stock levels, product quality and freshness.
Excellence in quality of execution and communication (POSM placement, planogram, pricing, USP, innovations)
Events opportunities highlighted.
Drive consumer dialogue opportunities to grow share.
Retailer Relationship
Develop an effective working relationship by giving assistance and support.
Get customer participation in promotion, merchandising placement, plannogramming, and other trade activity.

Be an actor in all trade events in territory.
Reporting Accuracy
Completion of business processes.
Obtain and record valid outlet information.
Achieve coverage, cycle and forecast objectives.
Analyse opportunities within outlets for most efficient investment.

Salary £25,000 Basic plus £3,000 London Allowance, Company Car, Annual Bonus of up to 30% of Base Salary, Daily Lunch Allowance, Healthcare, Share Schemes plus other generous benefits.

Essential requirements
  • University degree or similar;
  • Experience in field sales and fact-based selling, customer/consumer facing roles;
  • Strong team-working ability and evidence of leadership capability;
  • Good communication, negotiation and planning skills and financial awareness;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build internal and external relationships;
  • Self-Motivation, team spirit, integrity and strong customer engagement skills;
  • Sound IT skills and the ability to learn quickly;
  • Flexibility and innovative thinking;
  • Ambition to grow within the organisation;
  • Driving license is mandatory;
  • High standard of presentation and appearance;
  • Candidates must live in their territory, respective surroundings or be ready to move there.
