Job Description

World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Grants Finance Officer.

Purpose of position

Manage the day-to-day financial transactions and safeguard assets of Grants entrusted by the Donor party in line with World Vision International Financial policies and procedures and donor requirements.

The Package

The position is based in Accra with some level of domestic/international travel.
The position comes with an attractive salary package.
S/He reports to the Grants Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure all supporting documents to financial transactions (i.e. cash disbursement,  and journal vouchers, procurements) are complete, accurate, and relevant and comply with World Vison  International and World Vision Ghana finance policies and all donor requirements.
Review monthly input in SUNsystems of grants vouchers & ensure all coding is correct and that they comply with the World Vision Ghana coding & business rules
Perform and analyze financial summaries and reports for review by the related project managers, finance managers, and other managers on a monthly basis
Maintain all financial related documents/information to meet donors, World Vision International and audit requirements/standards
Coordinate the preparation of projects budget and implement revisions as necessary
Review all project employees’ and partners’ expense reports to ensure complete compliance with World Vision Policy.
Identify and provide basic financial training to the sub recipients and to the grant projects non-finance staff to ensure there is appropriate capacity in such offices to comply with accounting standards and all grant/donor requirements
Required Skills or Experience

Degree in Accounting / Finance or Part 11 of ACCA, CA/CIMA.
Good working knowledge in accounting software.
Three (3) years of professional experience in accounting. At least 2 years on Grant programs.
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
Must have good working knowledge of Accounting Principles.
Advance user of Sunsystem.
Strong understanding of financial Systems, Budgets/Cash flow monitoring and internal controls.
Ability to make timely and informed decisions taking into account facts, goals, constraints and risks.
Ability to exhibit financial management skills.
Must be able to manage a team in way that improve their ability to succeed on the job and motivates them to achieve organization’s goals.
Advanced MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills.
